Being Black in the Berkshires

September 21, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Being Black In The Berkshires
Friday, Sept. 21st, 7 – 8:30 pm
Second Congregational Church UCC
50 Onota Street, Pittsfield MA

Presented by the City of Pittsfield’s Human Rights Commission and the Berkshire Branch of the NAACP, co-sponsored by the Second Congregational Church UCC

With Russell Boyd, Alfred K. Enchill, Shirley Edgerton, Dr. Eden-Reneé Hayes, Dr. Frances Jones-Sneed, and Dennis Powell.

Please join us for a panel discussion of what it means to be ‘Black in the Berkshires’. African Americans have always been part of the rich history and culture of the Berkshires. But how many of us are aware of that history? What are the stories that are not being told, the voices that are not being heard? Remembering the past, assessing the present, and planning for the future – please be part of this important community conversation. Free – everyone welcome!
